Upcoming Educational Events at Holy Cross

September 11, 2016 – RALLY DAY
Please plan on attending Rally Day on September 11th, think about where you see the church going and how you’ll be involved.

  1. REGISTER your youngster(s) – ages 3 through 5th grade for our lectionary-based WHIRL curriculum. (We’ll be set up in the narthex.)
  1. After registration, BRING the kids to the Education Wing where we will have fun . . .
    • meeting the teachers
    • getting to know each other
    • making ornaments for our new Sanctuary Faith Tree
    • making WHIRL pinwheels
    • playing games – (some outside, weather permitting)

History and Heritage—Rally Day Event!  Join us on September 11th for a special History and Heritage event. The HCLC Transition Team will lead a discussion on the history of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.  We want to hear your stories about Holy Cross as well as get your thoughts on its future. The History and Heritage gathering will begin at 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. It will be followed by a potluck lunch at noon.

Special Adult Forum on Gettysburg Seminary on OCTOBER 2nd! Zimmann  Join us for a special adult forum on Gettysburg Seminary on October 2nd, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am in the Fellowship Hall.  Our guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Angela Zimmann. She is the Vice President for Advancement and Adjunct Professor of Preaching at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.

New Member Sunday   On All Saints Sunday, November 6th, Holy Cross will receive new members.  If you are interested in becoming a part of this community of faith please speak with Pastor Kleiber!  You may also wish to participate in our book study, Real Faith for Real Life: Living the Six Marks of Discipleship.

Pastor’s Continuing Education  Where’s Pastor Kleiber? Princeton, New Jersey, is the answer!  On Sunday afternoon, September 25, Pastor Kleiber will travel to Princeton, NJ to participate in a program on Religious Fundraising.   The program ends on Friday, September 30th.  Pastor Kleiber will take Sunday, October 2nd, a continuing education Sunday and two days of vacation on Monday and Tuesday of the following week.  The Rev. Dr. Angela Zimmann of Gettysburg Seminary will be our preaching and presiding minister on October 2nd.
