2017 marks the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation! In the spirit of playful celebration and gratitude to God the leadership of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the council, pastor and staff, will be issuing different challenges to the congregation as we embark on this anniversary year.
Our outreach efforts this November/December include a Toys for Tots drive. In the spirit of the season and to mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation we are challenging the Congregation to buy 500 toys for 500 tots. Let’s make this Christmas one to remember for 500 little boys and girls!!
Can we collect 500 toys for 500 tots?
Starting Sunday, November 6th there will be 3 boxes set up in the Narthex in which you can place donations. Toys for Tots is pretty straight forward, buy a toy for a little boy or girl (do not wrap it) and place it in the box. For the Fellowship Houses, there will be a list of requested items posted by the box as well as a printout that you may take with you. Please purchase any of the items from the list and place them in the box.
The directors of the Fellowship Houses expressed a need for old magazines because the residents enjoy sitting down in the main lobby area and rec room to read. There will be an extra box in which you can drop off old magazines you have around your house. They will be delivered to the Fellowship Houses at the same time as the donations.
All items for Toys for Tots must be in the box by Sunday December 4th.
