Food For Neighbors (Summer Food Drive)

Food for Neighbors, the recipient of our Lenten Appeal, provides weekend snacks for Middle and High school students during the school year and FCPS provides free or reduced price meals when schools are in session. When summer comes, the hunger remains but kids do not have access to those programs.

This summer, Holy Cross will help Herndon Middle School meet the needs of families who would otherwise face hunger. The middle school maintains a food pantry where parents can come to get food on July 3rd and July 18th, and again August 1st and August 15th. We would like to support them by collecting food to contribute to the pantry.

There are containers in the Narthex and you can drop off food on any given Sunday. A list of suitable foods can be found in the Narthex. The pantry is open from 6:30 am to 8:30 am, the time when parents are able to come in. Volunteers are welcome to help during distribution time. Please contact our church office if you have any questions (703-437-1883) or admin@holycrosslutheranchurch.net.

We appreciate your generosity in supporting this worthy cause. You make a huge difference in the lives of the kids in our community.
