Celebration of Life Service – 4/3: A luncheon for Tammy Breene’s Sister will be held at the church on Tuesday April 3rd at 11:00am. Your help in providing help and food for the family is needed. Lenten Appeal: Lent is nearly over and so is our 2012 Lenten Appeal for the benefit of the Fisher Houses at Bethesda.Please remember to return your donation folders by next Sunday and please give generously to this great cause.

Easter Sunday – 4/8: 8:30 & 11:00 AM services with breakfast 9:30 – 10:45 AM. Tickets for breakfast will be sold on Sunday 4/1 with proceeds to help the youth raise funds for their trip to the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Tickets are $10 each with a limit of $30/family. Kids under 6 are free.
April 29th – Join Us for Lunch as We Say Goodbye: Our seminarian McFred Brown has completed his Holy Cross assignment and will continue on with his seminary studies. Join us in the HCLC Fellowship Hall to honor McFred and thank him for his contributions to Holy Cross. We greatly appreciate food contributions for this event. large sizes , i.e.#10 cans, etc. they would appreciate it. Some of the canned
goods will be set aside for a few of the ESOL families who are in great need.

Second Tuesday Work Nights – 3/13: Husbands, bring your wives! Wives, bring your
husbands! Single folks, bring your significant others! For March, we’ll
concentrate our work inside the building. Bring tools if you have them, but we
really need your skills. We’ll start at 6:30 PM, but arrive when you’re able!

Lenten Appeal: This year’s appeal will be donated to the Fisher Facilities
at the Walter Reed National Medical Center at Bethesda. Fisher Houses are to
families of sick/injuredservice personnel what Ronald McDonald houses are to
families of sick children. No family pays to stay at a Fisher House. For more
information go to www.fisherhouse.com. This year Thrivent will provide matching funds up to $500 depending on the amount we raise.
Mid-Week Lenten Worship: Wednesday evenings – Dinner at 6PM, Worship at 7PM, or Thursday afternoons – Worship at noon, lunch at 12:30PM.
Mid-week Lent dinners: We are setting up the dinners

Add your name to any item(s) you would like to bring. You may also sign your name to help set-up and clean-up. Many hands make for light work.
Senior High Youth
(9th-12th grade) 3/30: Come to “Late Night at HCLC” on Friday,from 6:00pm

Spring cleanup day -
Saturday, 3/31: At 8:00 AM – In preparation for Palm Sunday and
Easter. We’ll clean up the church grounds, work on the gardens, and clean up
inside the building. If you have tools, bring them; chain saws will be
especially welcome. We work hard but we have a good time. Grab our work gloves
and join us! If you have questions, contact Doug Brick.
Notary Public: Anne Geiger is also a Notary and can do notaries after
hours with some notice (her notary items are at work).
Italy 2013!!! The Holy Cross Choir will be going
on tour through Rome, Italy with the other Herndon churches in April of 2013.
The trip is open to anyone who would like to go. You can sing in the choir or
you can just come and enjoy the trip. Deposit (roughly $280) and registration
is due on April 30 of 2012. The trip is 7 days and leaves April 29, 2013.

Blue Christmas 12/18: A service of healing on Sunday at 4. A meaningful and quiet way to center our hearts during this busy time.
Sunday School – 12/18: The high school class will be providing the Christmas lesson and activities for all the children in Sunday School (PreK thru 6th graders) during the Sunday School hour from 9:45 to 10:45. Fun for all–don’t miss the celebration and fun!

Costume Party Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 6pm-7:30pm: For the entire family: come for some good, fall fun: bobbing for apples, cookie decorating, fall crafts, costume contest and parade, and games, games, games. Youth Fund Raiser: This is the last week to enjoy a dinner at The Tortilla Factory (648 Elden Street in Herndon) either Sunday or Monday (Labor Day). 10% of your bill will be donated to the Holy Cross Youth trip to New Orleans. Bring a flyer (that can be found in the Narthex and attached to this email), or a church bulletin and hand to the cashier when you pay your bill and 10% will go to the youth.
