Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner! - March 4: Join our Youth Ministry at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person or $30 for families of four or more persons. Tickets will be on sale on March 2 between services and after the 11:00 service. Don’t miss the fun!

2014 Lenten Appeal: Watch your mail for information. This year the beneficiary will be the Lamb Center, a Fairfax based organization “serving the poor and homeless, transforming their lives, and sharing God’s love.”
Deb Haynes, our seminarian last year, is a volunteer at the Center.

First Sunday Food Donations – 2/1 – Top Food Needs: Yes, LINK has holes (large ones in some cases) on our pantry shelves. Here is a list of the top food needs – Soups (especially Chicken Noodle), Boxed Rice Products, Boxed Meal Helpers (like Hamburger Helper), Canned Fruit, Tomato Sauce, Chili, Canned Baked Beans, Boxes of Macaroni & Cheese, Spaghetti Sauce, Cake Mixes, Toilet Paper and Paper Towels.

Deck the Halls – 12/22: Help decorate our church home for Christmas immediately following the late service.
Christmas Eve Services 12/24: Family Worship Service at 6 PM, a festive celebration for children of all ages. Candlelight Eucharist at 8pm and 10pm, a traditional service to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Boots and Jeans – 12/29: Church Project Day. Wear your “boots and jeans” to church and we’ll start at 9:45 and continue after the second service to clean and fix our church home. For additional information contact Property Chair Michael Andress at email@example.com.

Pledge Cards: If you forgot to submit your pledge card last Sunday, don’t worry. We are still accepting them. Your pledge helps the congregation plan next year’s income forecast and enables the finance team to prepare the 2014 budget.
Tree of Joy – December: We reach out to the Holy Cross families who need assistance with gifts. Ornaments are hung on the Christmas tree in the Narthex. 50TH ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL CHOIR: Like to sing, but can’t make a commitment to the weekly rehearsal schedule of the Sanctuary Choir? Join the Festival Choir! 50th ANNIVERSARY LUNCHEON!!! SPACE LIMITED – Tickets must be purchased by Friday, October 18th. We invite you to celebrate and worship with us as we give thanks for all that has taken place in and through Holy Cross and as we look confidently towards the future. November 3, 2013 – Festive Worship with Holy Communion at 11:am followed by a luncheon and program:$50/adult; $25/children (5-15); free (under 5).
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP EVENT – OCTOBER 19TH!! 6-9pm – High school and middle school youth join us for a fun Fall tradition of wandering through the Corn Maize at Temple Hall Farm near Leesburg. Bring your friends and families! Wear warm clothes, bring a flashlight and $12 for admission plus a couple extra dollars for some hot chocolate. Please RSVP to Pastor Johnson no later than 5 pm on October 15th so we can be sure to have enough drivers.
If you believe your child is ready to begin taking communion, we ask that you and your child attend this series of classes. Pastor Johnson will be offering First Communion instruction on Sunday, September 15th from 1-3pm and Sunday, September 22nd from 1-3pm. Communicants and their parents will attend these two classes and then receive communion during services on Sunday, October 6th.
