The People in the Ivory Coast – collection dates 5/20 and 5/27: The NGO (Ong for Humanitarian Aid, ong-aide.org) has asked for our help. Many are living in poverty with little or no clothes or shoes. As you sort through your abundance of clothes and shoes for the change of seasons, consider setting aside clean items in good condition. This is an equatorial country needing only summer items. Christmas in July – 7/4: Donated Christmas decorations/ornaments/gift bags will be collected on sunday June 24th for sale at our 4th of July barbecue and fireworks. If you need further information, please contact Carolyn Rose.
Your Change For Our Change is off to a tremendous start. Thanks to Roy Geiger and Cardinal Bank the first count was done yesterday. The total after only three weeks is $172.67. Keep those coins coming and if you haven’t been able to pick up your can don’t worry – it will be delivered to you in the near future.

Holy Cross April Activities
Our sister Eloise Ours (a founding member of Holy Cross) passed away on Monday 3/26: There will be visitation this Thursday night at HCLC from 6PM to 8PM. The funeral is Friday at 10 AM followed by immediate internment in Falls Church. Mourners will return to HCLC for a southern style luncheon.You can volunteer for food or help at www.perfectpotluck.com using coordinator name odam and password friday.
Spring cleanup day – Saturday, 3/31: Anytime from 8 AM to 3 PM – In preparation for Palm Sunday and Easter. We’ll clean up the church grounds, work on the gardens, and clean up inside the building. If you have tools, bring them; chain saws will be especially welcome. We work hard but we have a good time. Grab our work gloves and join us! Tickets for breakfast will be sold on Sunday 4/1 with proceeds to help the youth raise funds for their trip to the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Tickets are $10 each with a limit of $30/family. Kids under 6 are free.
April 29th – Join Us for Lunch as We Say Goodbye: Our seminarian McFred Brown has completed his Holy Cross assignment and will continue on with his seminary studies. at the Walter Reed National Medical Center at Bethesda. Fisher Houses are to
families of sick/injuredservice personnel what Ronald McDonald houses are to
families of sick children. No family pays to stay at a Fisher House. For more
information go to www.fisherhouse.com. This year Thrivent will provide matching funds up to $500 depending on the amount we raise.

Notary Public: Anne Geiger is also a Notary and can do notaries after

Italy 2013!!! The Holy Cross Choir will be going
on tour through Rome, Italy with the other Herndon churches in April of 2013.
The trip is open to anyone who would like to go. You can sing in the choir or
you can just come and enjoy the trip. Deposit (roughly $280) and registration
is due on April 30 of 2012. The trip is 7 days and leaves April 29, 2013.

HCLC September Activities
Youth Fund Raiser: This is the last week to enjoy a dinner at The Tortilla Factory (648 Elden Street in Herndon) either Sunday or Monday (Labor Day). 10% of your bill will be donated to the Holy Cross Youth trip to New Orleans.
